Dark Horse comics today released a very funny little infographic about it's cache of vampiric comics. Personally, I had no idea there were so many suck-heads infesting the pages of the publisher.
Even though they're one of the bigger publishers out there, DH really doesn't take any short cuts and produces a very solid list of titles every month. I've read most of the stuff that the graphic shows off, and I can vouch for all as good, (very) high quality, vampire lore.
It's mostly classic in influence with little alterations here and there. Quick example- Joss Whedon's Buffy, Spike, and Angel titled books are infused with the deep history that the television show (and movie) set up. Just as the pic tells you though, you won't find any of the trappings of stuff like True Blood or Twilight in these comics.
Oh, and read the Strain would you?
It's bloody awesome.
