The Hunger Games Style Comes Home

Farouk Systems is one of the biggest producers of hot tools for hair styling in the US. Now they've got a how-to from pro creative artist Danielle Bucco-Regazzi on how women can get the look from the upcoming The Hunger Games film.

According to Farouk Systems Creative Artist Danielle Bucco-Regazzi, “The Hunger Games is a unique film in the sense that it is very much like going to a runway show at New York Fashion Week.  While it’s meant to entertain, it goes far beyond by being a style lexicon and inspiring women’s hairstyles for the coming season.”
And in that spirit, here's a how-to from Bucco-Regazzi on how to get the 'Fishtail Braid' hairstyle worn by main character Katniss Everdeen-

The Fishtail Braid

Tips 1-5    The Look
Start with dry hair.

What you will need:
BioSilk Silk Therapy
CHI Digital 1” Orbit Curling Iron
BioSilk Molding Silk
Clear Plastic Bands

Apply a dime size amount of BioSilk Silk Therapy from mid-shaft to ends – MAKE SURE TO AVOID THE ROOTS!

Taking large sections, curl the hair around the CHI Digital Orbit to create a beach curl.

Apply a fingertip size amount of BioSilk Molding Silk from mid-shaft to ends to help create texture.

Step 1: Start by using your finger to direct the hair to one side.

Step 2: Split the hair into two sections.

Step 3: Start by gathering your hair to the side and dividing it into two sections. (Do this instead of three sections, like you would for a regular braid.)

Step 4: Hold both sections in one hand, separated by your pointer finger, and use your other hand to grab a small piece from the outside of one section.

Step 5: Pull the strands over to the other half, and then take a piece from the outside of that section and braid the opposite way. Imagine that you're doing a typical braid, except the moving pieces are tiny.

Step 6: To cover the band you can wrap a small piece of hair around and bobby pin.

Now you’re ready for the big world premiere!
