Pretty big announcement about Madden 10 from EA just now on Gametrailers TV.

Co-op play over Live and PSN will be a new feature. I love Madden and I think this is pretty awesome.

I'll never use it. But it's awesome.

iPod iCamera- iYay?

Gizmodo is reporting that the next iPod Nano will come complete with a built in digital camera. I'm definately not sold on this idea. Don't get me wrong, it's probably true, but I don't really see the point.

Oh crap, he's back!

Well, well, well... it looks like Sam Fischer is back in action at last. Ubisoft just launched a teaser site for 'Conviction'- the next, Bourne-like (and Xbox only), entry into the Splinter Cell saga.

Took 'em long enough.

Ouch

It looks like the 'recession' is finally hitting the electronic world pretty hard. Namely, Sony.

It's disappointing because I thought Sony of all companies would stand fast against the crash. They're into so much that they seemed pretty safe. The biggest drop came out of their entertainment division. Eighteen percent down.

Damn Depress..uh..Recession.

Resident Evil is on the iPhone!

In the 'where the hell did this come from' file is Resident Evil Degeneration for the iPhone. Apparently, it's a full fledged third person shooter in Res Evil vein and is based on the animated movie of the same name. The movie featured Leon and Clair trapped in an airport with *wait for it* a bunch of zombies.

Contra Rebirth

There are some franchises that just need to stay in the second dimension.

Anybody who remembers action gaming on the NES & SNES (or Genesis for that matter) knows the name 'Contra'. The recent (and excellent) Contra 4 on the DS was a great continuation of a 2D series that stumbled and fell flat on it's face into the world of 3D. But now it looks like we're going to be treated to a second modern 2D iteration of the classic blast-a-thon. 1up.com has reported that Konami's Japanese website has a bit about a WiiWare version of Contra called 'Contra Rebirth'.

It's not really clear at present if this is a new game or a remake of one of the previous games in the series. Whatever it may be, it's really awesome that companies are producing 'SF2HD-style' remakes of their back catalogs. First Street Fighter and Bionic Commando, then Turtles in Time, now Contra- keep 'em coming! (and preferably to all the networks)

Apple iBox? MacStation? Apptendo Iii? (!)

I've been thinking that Apple was putting something together on the gaming front for a while now.

TUAW just made a perfect case for it though. Go check out the article.

A dark day for Duke...

So here's some bad news- it looks like 3D Realms, creators of Duke Nukem and many more, are shuttering their doors. /taps

The studio has simply run out of money and can no longer function as a standalone. It's unclear what's happening with Duke Forever(although it probably wasn't going to come out anyway) and the Prey franchise. The latter of which was due several sequels as well as an iPhone game.

Come to think of it, the iPhone game was due in February. So that was probably the first sign of impending doom. (Doom is still iPhone bound thankfully)

What will not be affected is the planned (and actually being developed)Duke Nukem Trilogy. DNT is a three game set of third-person action games coming soon. (we hope)

Wolverine is pretty good... no really!

So I've been playing through X-Men Origins:Wolverine and it's really good. Shocking, I know.

As anyone who regularly plays video games could tell you, movie tie-in games almost always suck in some way. Usually a critical way. But Wolvie doesn't.

The game looks good, plays well, and expands on the movie's storyline in a good way.

Amazing. But true.

Review as soon as I'm done with it-

Sunday, It's my happy-go-funday

Well, I haven't done one of these in a while so here we go-

Played a lot of Resident Evil 5 today, I still have 2 acts to go. Great game .

I wish it didn't take me so damn long to get through games, my backlog is getting to be just plain old embarrassing.

You know what I just realized? I never did a year-ender last year. Forgot all about the old Sparkies...maybe I'll do it this week. That'd be weird huh?

The Calendar Man Strikes!

Or something like that.

Batman:Arkham Asylum (for the Xbox 360 & PS3) has officially been delayed until the late summer. Crap. In a hat.

In a way, it's a good thing. Eidos has said that the main reason for the delay is to tweak the game up a bit so it's as perfect as it can be when it drops from the shadows. Who knows if that's true or not but it is nice to hear that they're taking their time- It's been a while since a decent Batman game has graced us with it's presence.

I just want to play this damn game so bad. And it was so close to release. So very, very close...

Gettin Punchy?

Did you know that you can follow along with the soon to be released 'Punch Out!!' for the Wii on Twitter? I didn't, but the 'Big N' was so kind as to let me know-

I freakin love Punch Out!!! in any form so I'm very much looking forward to the 18th of May. I'm gonna hit Glass Joe so hard. He's really got it coming...
